Things to do before and after procedure

Before treatment

Some general things to consider before undergoing laser skin resurfacing treatment include:

  1. Avoid using any skin care products that contain retinol or other exfoliating agents for at least two weeks before the treatment.

  2. Avoid excessive sun exposure and use a broad-spectrum sunscreen with an SPF of at least 30 to protect your skin.

  3. Avoid waxing, electrolysis, and other forms of hair removal for at least two weeks before the treatment.

  4. Avoid taking any medications or supplements that can increase your risk of bleeding, such as aspirin or ibuprofen, unless instructed by your doctor.

After treatment

After the treatment, it is important to follow your doctor's instructions for post-treatment care. This may include:

  1. Applying a moisturizer and sunscreen as directed by your doctor.

  2. Avoiding excessive sun exposure and wearing protective clothing when outside.

  3. Avoiding hot showers, saunas, and steam rooms for at least 24 hours after the treatment.

  4. Avoiding using any skin care products that contain retinol or other exfoliating agents for at least one week after the treatment.

  5. Avoiding any activities that may cause excessive sweating or irritation to the treated area, such as exercise or swimming.
